ASUS RT-AX57 Dual-Band WiFi 6 Gaming Router

Technical Specifications

Product Description

The ASUS RT-AX57 is an AX3000 dual-band WiFi 6 gaming router engineered for multiplayer gamers, 4K multimedia streamers, smart homes, and connected workstations requiring strong wireless throughput and low packet jitter. Finished in a matte black gaming chassis with aerodynamic cooling channels, the router features four external 5dBi high-gain adjustable antennas. Equipped with beamforming technology, the antenna system focuses RF energy directly toward connected devices through interior walls and partitions to deliver up to 2,500 square feet of stable, whole-home coverage.

At the core of the RT-AX57 is a 1.7 GHz quad-core network processor paired with 256MB of RAM and 128MB of flash storage. This computational architecture allows the system to process heavy multi-client packet queues, manage stateful firewall inspection, and run active VPN encryption tunnels without thermal bottlenecks or latency spikes. Operating on the IEEE 802.11ax WiFi 6 standard across the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz bands, the router delivers aggregated wireless throughput of up to 3000 Mbps—comprising 2402 Mbps over the 5 GHz band and 574 Mbps over the 2.4 GHz band (with 2×2 streams on both frequencies). Supported by 1024-QAM modulation, OFDMA, and MU-MIMO technologies, the router divides wireless channels efficiently among concurrent users, delivering the sustained bandwidth and low ping required for uninterrupted 4K Ultra HD streaming, cloud gaming, and crystal-clear voice calls.

Wired connectivity features one dedicated Gigabit WAN port and four dedicated Gigabit LAN ports for wired gaming rigs, smart TVs, and consoles. The router incorporates Dual-WAN functionality to configure a secondary connection for failover and load balancing, keeping your network online during ISP disruptions. It also supports Download Master for unattended downloads and integrated File Server capabilities. The system offers versatile deployment across three operating modes: Wireless Router, Access Point (AP), and Repeater / Range Extender, and integrates with ASUS AiMesh ecosystems for multi-node mesh networking under a single SSID.

Network security and privacy are anchored by ASUS AiProtection Classic powered by Trend Micro, delivering lifetime subscription-free defenses including malicious site blocking, vulnerability shields, and infected device isolation. Remote access remains protected with built-in VPN Server and VPN Client support for WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPSec, and PPTP, alongside ASUS Instant Guard for one-click encrypted tunneling on public networks. Completed with advanced parental controls, Bandwidth Management with Adaptive QoS, Traffic Analyzer diagnostics, Smart Connect automatic band steering, and support for up to 6 isolated guest networks, the ASUS RT-AX57 provides a complete, reliable WiFi 6 networking and gaming foundation backed by a 2-year warranty.
